New Years Day edition of SmackDown was pretty good , I did not expect much.
I will say that this weeks SmackDown was way better then this weeks Raw.
So let dig into this weeks SmackDown!
NEW DAY NEW YEAR SEGMENT/ SAMOA JOE VS JEFF HARDY FOR THE FIFTH SPOT IN THE FIVE WAY TO SEE WHO FACES DANIEL BRYAN AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE
I loved the New Day New Year Segment , Big E as the New Years Baby was classic!
An plus the reference to the Scott Steiner promo , Bird Box, and Kofi going off on Brock, was pure comedy gold.
Samoa Joe vs Jeff Hardy was a good match , I actually would not mind seeing this rivalry go on.
Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura Segment
I did not care for this segment , Rusev came off weak with his promo .
Rusev can be babyface without going total babyface , it could work with a little less playing to the crowd. I have no problem with what Shinsuke did, in my opinion, Shinsuke's attack did not add anything to the segment.
Namoi vs Sonya Deville With Mandy Rose
I don't get the whole Mandy Rose and Namoi feud , i could almost understand it if Mandy was managing a tag team the Uso's were feuding with .
The match was eh, I think Sonya needs a new finisher because whatever finisher she used last night was wack.
John Cena and The Man Becky Lynch/ John Cena & The Man Becky Lynch vs Andrade 'Cien" Almas & Zelina Vega
I really enjoyed the Segment between Cena and Becky , Becky definitely made a big statement in that exchange with Cena .
I think it would be cool to see a Becky vs Cena Match , but I don't it will ever happen.
I thought this tag match was good , the ending were Becky toss's Cena out the ring was awesome .
I think Becky will be facing Asuka at the Royal Rumble.
THE MAIN EVENT : FATAL FIVE WAY TO SEE WHO FACES DANIEL BRYAN FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE.
AJ STYLES VS SAMOA JOE VS RANDY ORTON VS REY MYSTERIO VS MUSTAFA ALI
I thought this was a good match but I would have had Rey win.
I think with the whole lets bring out the real Aj out storyline could have been made a lot more interesting with Aj not winning this match.
Overall I thought this was was good SmackDown , can't wait for next week !
